Ivy Naté

Fine Art Editorial & Collateral Design

The Brief & Strategic Challenge

Ivy Naté is a contemporary fine artist living and working in New York City. Brought on to direct the design and production of her inaugural monograph, Ivy Naté Volume 1: 2016–2018, the objective was to translate a diverse collection of notes, raw sketches, quotes, and high-resolution artwork imagery into a cohesive, museum-quality print publication. The project required balancing rigorous editorial formatting with premium production specifications tailored for fine art collectors.

Creative Direction & System Design

The book design focuses on a minimalist layout to keep the artist’s work central to the viewing experience. Volume 1 was executed as an 80-page, perfect-bound hardcover book, wrapped in white cloth and finished with a custom white-foil embossed imprint on the cover. To emphasize the exclusivity of the piece, the publication integrates a vellum signature page, individually numbered and signed by the artist. Beyond the book itself, the project included a modular suite of promotional print collateral used to support studio outreach and gallery exhibitions.

The Outcome

Released as a limited edition of 150 copies, the completed monograph balances the raw texture of the artist's sketches with premium print production. The final book and matching promotional materials give the studio a consistent, high-end print presence, providing the artist with a distinct way to support gallery exhibitions, enhance studio outreach, and document her ongoing career.
